You may trying to form a cite using an abbreviation for a group author (organization, agency, etc.). If not, ignore the red marking.

If so, the abbreviation was not properly established at the first citation of the reference.

An abbreviation for a group (institution, organization, etc.) author is formed in the following way:

Reference List: The abbreviation is not included in the reference list entry. Example:

American Psychological Association. (2002). Indicator 17: Students’ absence from ...

Body of the Text:

An abbreviation is established upon first citing the reference. The abbreviation immediately follows the organization's name, and is enclosed in "brackets" [...] - probably found to the right of the "P" key on your keyboard - not in rounded parentheses (...):

First Cite: ... American Psychological Association [APA] (2002) ...

The abbreviation is now established and can be used in place of the group's name throughout the remainder of the document:

Subsequent Cites: ... APA (2002) ... or (APA, 2002)
