If you don't know which web browser you're using, click Help in the
menu bar, then look at the last item on the help list. It will say About
Internet Explorer if Explorer, or About Mozilla Firefox if
Firefox [the two most common browsers in use].
If you are using Microsoft's Internet Explorer, go to
A. below. If using Firefox, go to B.
A. Internet Explorer, especially in its latest
versions, has been troublesome in blocking perfectly legitimate actions in
its heavy-handed attempts to improve "security." To make IE react properly
to the mouse hovers,
-
Look
at the top of the IE window and see if you see the following strip:

-
If
so, click the phrase "Click here for options ...".
-
You
should then see

-
Click "Allow Blocked Content." When you do
so, it will show a warning asking you if you really want to do this, at
which point click the Yes button.
-
If you had already closed the yellow strip shown in 1
above by clicking the X, close Internet Explorer and then restart it,
taking care to follow steps 2-4 when the yellow strip appears and you open
the CiteRefs scan attachment..
B. If using Mozilla Firefox, do the following:
-
In the browser's menu bar,
click Tools ... Options.
-
Then click the Content
tab. Enable JavaScript should be checked.
-
If not, click in the little
check box to enable it.
-
Then click the OK
button.
The useful hovering mouse feature should now work properly
when you return to the CiteRefs analysis..
Close this window (or tab) to return to your document
and test hovering again.
